The Daniel River we don’t know
Daniel Kang, who says that you have to do whatever you want to solve your intuition. About Danielle Kang, whom she introduces herself as a heroine who seems to go through the joys and sorrows of her life without hesitation.
“I like the start of the season? This is the first time I’ve heard that.” Although she tied for 12th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and tied for 3rd at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, the people around her told Daniel that the start of the season was slower than usual. did it He accepted the opinions of others coolly. “I usually have a good start, slow in the middle,스포츠토토 and stop well at the end. If this year doesn’t look good, I’ll take off midway through.”
●○● I heard that you customized your own putter this year. Was there a special occasion?
I couldn’t play golf that well during the opening game. The ball hit really well. But I missed all the putts. From there, everything I had accumulated so far exploded. After the tournament, for three days, I did not sleep until 4 or 5 in the morning and investigated all the putters called putters. I also went to the PGA show and met Scotty Cameron there. When Cameron heard about the putter I wanted, he liked it so much, he said, ‘I’m going to San Diego today to make a molding right away, so let’s meet next week’. After meeting Cameron again, I only made putters for 7 hours from 10:00 am to past 5:00 pm. I was so focused that I didn’t even eat or drink water. We shared opinions and made three putters. I especially liked the last piece, and Cameron named it ‘DK Special’. I can’t guarantee that the putter will work well for anyone else. But it’s made to fit my body structure and my hand movements, and I really like it, especially the Scotty Cameron putter. Even if I’m 12th or 30th, my putting is promising.
●○● Besides making putters, is there anything else you want to do in golf?
I was really proud when I made the putter. I thought my calculations were correct, and I was happy that my idea came true. Next, I want to make clothes. As a golfer, performance is important to me. I really wanted to try making clothes because I thought a lot about how to make clothes that would be helpful when playing golf, and that they would be pretty, but I haven’t had the opportunity yet.
●○● Aside from the putter, there are a lot of changes this year, such as clothes and caddies. Is there a reason?
Because you have to do well. I don’t think it’s good to keep doing the same thing and hoping for better. Don’t be afraid of change and always want to try new things. I changed my caddy and changed my putter. The golf shoes have changed and the clothes are also newly worn by Descente Golf. I was worried if I would fit in with the Korean style or if Korean clothes would suit me well, but it was comfortable and the performance was good, so I feel relieved.
●○● What was your first impression of Descente Golf?
When you go to a competition, clothes are also important. Doesn’t it make a lot of rustling sound when walking, and when putting, if the best is big, it gets in the way. I need to put a yardage book in, so I need a pocket. Or, there are many times when the zipper is a concern. However, Descente Golf was impressed with what I thought was good. It felt like a lot of attention was paid to the details. The pants I wore during the final round of the HSBC Women’s World Championship were actually sweatpants. It rained so much that I had no choice but to wear them, but they didn’t look like training pants at all. It seems to be a characteristic of Descente Golf Wear. It’s comfortable, but it looks stylish and dressed up, so you can keep your golf manners.
●○● You seem to have a lot of interest in golf wear.
What if you made your own golf wear? I really want to try it if I get a chance. I like to dress like an athletic, sports person. But isn’t golf a gentle sport? I don’t stray too far from golf tradition and don’t look rude, but I want to dress like I’m here for a workout. Wearing pretty clothes is important, but being good at golf comes first.
Are you afraid of change?
●○● What is your usual personality like?
Do whatever you want, whatever you want. I’m a bit fancy. I try everything they tell me to eat, and if they tell me not to, I do it. Aren’t you curious? However, it is not enough to harm human relationships. (Laughter) Initiative, proactive. It’s like that in everything. But I don’t think that’s the case with golf.
●○● If there is a reason you are not as active as in golf.
In golf, I don’t like to make changes. But this year, I decided to change, so I tried a lot of things. During Aramco Saudi Ladies International and Honda LPGA Thailand, it was during a ball test. But the new ball didn’t hit well. The throw didn’t go well, and the ball didn’t ride in the tailwind. At the HSBC Women’s World Championship, I played with my usual ball, but it flew as well as I wanted. Oh, I also tested wedges at Honda LPGA Thailand, but in the end, they all came back to what I was using.
●○● Is there any reason why you don’t play the way you want to?
I made the same mistake again. It was like that recently too. It’s a process of matching up with the caddy, but at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, the caddy said, ‘It must be long here. It shouldn’t be shorter than a pin,’ he said. However, the results were short-lived. Because I really wanted to put it on a pin. The caddy would have wanted me to do this. From the caddy’s point of view, it was also annoying. But when I said, ‘I’m like this. I’ll try my best, but I can’t change,’ and she said she would change the way the caddy speaks. During the final round, I tried to play with a 7-iron on a hole, but the caddy said, ‘If you fall into a bunker, pay a penalty’. So she asked me to switch to a 6 iron and she did. (Laughter)
○○● But is it because of the change? He broke his personal lowest score. (HSBC Championship 2R 9 under par 63 strokes)
That’s right. I’ve never done better than 8 under par, and that made me so angry. His 8 under par. I recorded 10 under par in practice, but it was 8 under par in competitions. But I felt really good because I was able to write down 9 under par. I guess it’s because I’m not stressed.
●○● As much as golf, he hates change and is a perfectionist. It must be a lot of stress, how do you relieve it?
just sleep Actually it doesn’t work out well. But now, instead of relieving stress, I changed my mind. In the past, when I was stressed out by golf, I tried to find a solution. I just thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be better if I practiced like this’? But now I think about other things besides golf. usually eat rice Doesn’t it make you feel better when you eat something delicious? Then, even if I was stressed out in golf, my life was not stressed out.
●○● You had an unexpected break last year. How did you overcome the difficult times before returning to the tour?
It wasn’t really good at first. I wondered if I should give up golf, but I cried, got angry, and felt depressed. But this time passed faster than expected. My mom asked me one day, ‘If you don’t play golf, can you do other things?’ no. ‘Is golf everything?’ no. Then what if you don’t? She was grateful that her mother had said that. There are so many things I want to do besides golf. Even four years ago, I thought golf was a waste of time. There were so many things I wanted to do. After that, I thought, ‘That’s what happens when you stop playing golf’ and moved on. After that, I did my best in what I had to do. From waking up in the morning to eating, exercising, and resting throughout the day, I changed my routine and spent my daily life.
●○● It’s the 12th year of the tour. How is the competition with young players?
I don’t see players as competitors. You have to go to a tournament and play golf for 4 days, but isn’t it possible to win a championship just by one player winning? Golf has no competitors. Some people say, ‘You have to beat yourself, your competitor is yourself’, but I’m not. why do you have to fight me Even if you hit well, you don’t fall into the divot, and there are times when you don’t enter the hole even if you putt well. You have to endure all of that. to fight golf. It’s a war against golf.
●○● Do you have your own routine that you consistently follow to win golf?
body care. While others do skincare, I roll on the floor. I always carry a foam roller and bands with me and stretch in the morning. I pay a lot of attention to the pillow when I sleep. Golf also affects my personal life. To eat, sleep, and run, you have to be well prepared. I always have to take good care of my body even if I don’t have to grab a golf club and hit the ball.
●○● Is there a way to keep the work life balance?
It’s about 12 years old, so I’m really good at organizing tournament schedules. When I have free time, I like to see my mother and her puppies and meet up with friends. I haven’t been home for about 4 weeks now. Of course, I can’t practice as much as I do when I’m at home, but even if I don’t practice for two days, golf is the same. Even if I die a lot, in the end, it’s the same. so it’s okay Even thinking like this seems to have changed a lot.
●○● If there is something you want to try someday.
#1 in the world rankings. As I keep saying, there are so many things I want to do. But if you ask me what I want to do right now, it would be to become number 1 in the world rankings. Athletes who have risen to No. 1 in the world rankings are different no matter how different they are. Is the game itself really stable? I want to experience something like that too. As soon as I wake up, I feel like I can play golf the way I want. Maybe I should try I’m the only one who knows if I’m not doing my best. Women’s golf isn’t about long distances, so I think it’s possible to play well if you make use of other strengths. You can do well.
