Kang Gyeong-nam (40. Daeseon Brewery) 메이저놀이터 entered the Korean tour in 2004. This year marks the 20th anniversary of his Korean tour debut.

Excluding the past 2014 and 2015, which were during his military service, he has competed in 237 competitions by 2022. Of these, he passed the cut in 195 competitions and entered the top 10 93 times. He has maintained his seed every year and has never been outside the top 50 on the money list.

His sincerity was the driving force. Kang Kyung-nam said, “I was not lazy. I always kept a constant amount of practice. I never practiced less. Looking back, I did not experience a ‘slump.’ Being stable is a great strength. I have become more faithful in self-management.”

He has lifted the championship cup 11 times in the meantime. His first win was the Tomato Savings Bank Zephyros Open in 2006. He also won the Jungheung Gold Lake Open that year, winning the prize money and the lowest stroke award three years after his debut.

In 2007, he won 3 victories in the second half of the year, 1 win in 2010, 2 wins in 2011, and 1 win in 2013 before enlisting in the military. After completing military service, he returned to the tour in 2016 and added a win at the 2017 Jinju Savings Bank Kaido Men’s Open with Black Cats, achieving 10 wins on the Korean Tour for the 8th time in his career.

Kang Kyung-nam said, “From 2005 to 2007 was my heyday. At that time, golf was the way I wanted to be.”

In 2021, he achieved his 11th win at the Biz Play Electronic Newspaper Open. Kang Kyung-nam is tied for 7th place in the Korean Tour with the most wins. The total prize money is 3,875.86 million won, which is second only to Park Sang-hyun (4,386,566,753 won).

Kang Kyung-nam said, “The Biz Play Electronic Newspaper Open victory is the most memorable.” “Most of the victories were won by reverse wins. The chase was fierce. After confirming the championship, I felt that my competitiveness was sufficient.”

He is currently gearing up for the 2023 season in the US. The main sponsor also changed this year. Kang Kyung-nam said, “This year’s goal is to win. There are not many players in their 40s on the tour, so it will be more meaningful if we win.” .
