“Get out of my way”… ‘Pushing man’ on Line 2 who indiscriminately pushed passengers away
A man who pushed past passengers on the Seoul subway on his way안전놀이터 to work, causing misunderstanding as a ‘weapon rampage’, was caught by the police. According to the police on the 19th, the Seoul Central Police Station is investigating A, a man in his 30s, on charges of assault causing bodily harm and obstruction of business.
Mr. A is accused of walking down the central aisle while pushing passengers with both hands in a train heading to City Hall Station heading to Euljiro 4-ga Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 at around 8:23 a.m. on the 6th of this month. Passengers who mistakenly believed that Mr. A was threatening them with a weapon ran away or hurriedly got off the train, causing 18 people to fall and get injured.
The police began an investigation after receiving several 112 reports that a knife attack had occurred at the time. The police tracked Mr. A’s movements through analysis of closed-circuit ( CC ) TV footage and caught him near his residence in Nowon-gu about 10 days later. During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, “I wanted to pass by the train, but there were a lot of people, so I just pushed past.” A police official said, “We are investigating the details of the incident against Mr. A and the victim.”
