‘Don’t ask assault’ in Uiwang apartment… Beating and dragging the neighbor girl

A man in his 20s was caught by the police in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, after he assaulted a neighbor woman who lived in the same apartment but never met.

The Uiwang Police Station announced on the 5th that it plans to apply for an arrest warrant for a man in his 20s on charges of assault.

Mr. A is accused of hitting and injuring Mr. B, a woman in her 20s안전놀이터, several times with her fist in an elevator of a hallway apartment in Uiwang-si at around 12:30 noon that day.

It is known that he boarded the elevator that Mr. B was coming down from the 12th floor, pressed the button for the 10th floor, and assaulted Mr. B indiscriminately.

Mr. A was arrested as a red-handed criminal by the police, who were dispatched to the report of a resident who came out after hearing Mr. B’s scream.

Mr. B was said to be seriously injured and she is receiving hospital treatment.

As a result of the police investigation, Mr. A lived alone in this apartment. He is a neighbor who lives in the same dong as Mr. B, but it is known that he does not know each other at all.

This incident reminds me of the so-called ‘Busan Round Kick Murder Attempt’ case in which a woman in her 20s who was returning home from Seomyeon, the center of Busan, was assaulted and knocked unconscious. The suspect in the roundabout kick case is also accused of committing a sex crime by dragging the victim who lost consciousness at the time of the assault to a CCTV blind spot.

Accordingly, the police plan to extensively investigate whether there is any circumstance in which Mr. A attempted to commit a sex crime against Mr. B.

A police official said, “The suspect was not in a state of being drunk or drugged.”
